We the HYPOCRITES / The his/her syndrome

Probably the first title seems a bit too strong huh?? Probably then you are welcome to take up the second one and go ahead reading ( but that's the one I will go with).Anyways there are few factors for actually writing up this thing. First being the women(ya everyone of them),then men(again all of them),this society consisting of men and women(the whole society!!!) .Well too much of beating round the bush(to be blamed on 4 years of engineering),we come down to the core.

It all started with a bus journey to somewhere (nothing to do with the place anyways), one fine stop some ladies got onto the bus, obviously the bus was crowded but there were couple of seats which were labeled "For Ladies" and occupied by some gentlemen ( I hope you got the pun ),anyways these ladies stood by those seats and started discussing the modus operandi of their plan of action, one female pushed another to ask the guys to leave the place and like the dominos it went on rippling to the lady standing closest to the seat, but this was a different dominos, here the rippling effect was reversible and it came back to the lady who initiated the pushing. They stood, stood and then they…..ya they continued standing and finally those proud owners of the seat got down only for the seat to find new occupants ( no not those ladies) but some other gentlemen. The ladies didn't do anything (ok,ok I didn't do anything too,but hey I was standing and I was thinking too and that's limit of multiprocessing for me). Finally I got down and I don't know if the ladies got their dejure seats (I seriously doubt).

But I saw those expressions, those of anguish, of being devoid of what was rightfully their, of not being able to speak against it and lot others which made me think ( and that is pretty rare you know), is this the society where we talk about equal opportunities for everybody , where women match shoulders with men and form an ideal society about which we just love to talk.And then came a news , a men shot a lady minister just because he thought that women are not supposed to hold any office of power. ( I know this news bears more importance on the point I wish to stress , but got to be frank, this all thinking because of those ladies in the bus). This news reinforced one thing which we all know, we have a long way to be even able to talk about this so called "Equal opportunity society" thing.(Please,I am not talking about the class of which probably you are a part of,this is about the mass,the majority and no statistics can mask it).

I actually tried to think some more(yeah it was just an attempt) as to who is to blame, who lead us to such a state and till when will this continue. I got a few answers but they are all mine , all we need is some 100 crore (and counting) – 1 answers, probably then we can just start talking about this equality thing.

I wrote this not because I support a particular sex or something but because I am fed up and tired of people acting on pretenses and eventually one group being made to believe being the baton holders of the society ( which they are not ) and the other who think that they are not and being content with the situation is what they are for ( which again is a wrong notion ), and on the same time both the groups talking big about our society having achieved "The Equality".

It's high time we understand that if the first man to raise his hand on a woman was "————"(suit yourself, fill it up) then that lady who took the shot and didn't reply back is to be equally blamed.

I have found out 3 major culprits, it's the men , the women and our society(which is to say WE,sorry but even the progressive and the broad minded ones,because I feel they are scared even in accepting the fact that they are right). I know that's the easy way out , just declare everybody as the faulting party and start the blame game but I have my reasons ( remainder ,they are my personal reflection ).

Party 1 : Men- For the simple reason that they believe they are the a)indispensable ones, and b)the stronger of the two sex and and

While (1) { a),b) }

/*I know this is not what the java people will agree to but whatever….lets say its in C */

Party 2 : Women – For the fact that they don't tell the men otherwise and take things in the stride of being made to adjust and adjust and adjust again.

Party 3 : Society – For breeding above mentioned notions in parties 1 and 2 and on the top wrapping them up with a layer of sweet hypocrisy making us feel that everything is going just fine. For making us used to write Mr. before Ms. and his before his.(i don’t care what comes before,but the point is why did we start that way???)

Anyways these were my reasons and my notions, but still the answers to these questions will never be found until we shed this cover of double life and accept what is the truth. Again its we who decide what's true and what's not so the vicious cycle continues.

I don't know any of the answers, none at all ( and this is not something which we can chuff through just like that).

I don't know when those ladies will ask those gentlemen to get off their seats.

I don't know when people will get over the ideas of shooting of a lady who is supposed to be their representative in the government, don't know when those 90% of women Sarpanch's and politicians will ask their husbands to stop acting as if they were the ones who were holding the office, don't know when will ladies will stop celebrating 10-15 days of Women's Day letting the men to take for granted the remaining days of the year ,but ,well we are the youth and along with some 100 thousand responsibilities which are already attributed on us by the politicians this will be the biggest and the most difficult one.
